Income is the sum of all the wages, salaries, profits, interests payments, rents and other forms of earnings received, in a given period of time.

It is the goal of most to have the most income they can get, and this can be achieved in a number of ways - as above. However it should be remembered that even with a high income, if you have high expenditure, then you could be no better off than someone with a lower income and less expenditure.
